S’cary Leg Runners Meeting Minutes
September 8, 2015 – Best House, Middleburgh
Attendees: Pam, Dave, Chad, Rachael, Carl, Bobbi, Amy
Start 6:45pm
- Spark on the Run – touch base and review
o 43 registered so far
o 400 registration forms went out in Middleburgh Elementary today
o Hoping for 100-150 runners
o Bobbi to have contact email Dave and Amy the excel registration file on Friday 9/18 by 3pm
o Walmart volunteers will put the bags together prior to race – to include coupons, t-shirts etc. (no bibs)
o Day of race registration/packet pick up
- Two registration tables – day of or pre-reg.
- 1 table for bib pick up
o Start and finish line will be at the high school gym entrance
o Bounce house at the Best House
o Food by non-profits (Booster club, church, library)
o Raffles for basket donations and Walmart donations
o Approve 31 volunteers will be available day of race
o Manual tracking of race will be done along with system tracking
o Dave has awards set up in system
- Timothy Murphy 10k – touch base and review
o SLR’s team mbrs are getting free shirts – need sizes by 9/17
o Rachael to send Amy list of Rod & Gun Club members with shirt sizes to be included in final counts
- Amy to send email with final shirt counts on Monday 9/21 to be ordered
o Amy to print list and labels for Rachel to create bags
- Alpha by last name, first name and shirt size
o SLR team members will be manning registration tables and timing table – WHO IS AVAILABLE? Confirmed – Amy, Vicki, Pam, Carl, Dave, Chad.
o Food for race – apples and choc chip cookies – tradition!
- Review minutes from 8/11/15 meeting – approved
- Financials – approved
- Membership dues: if your dues are outstanding – please send your $20 check to PO Box 826 Schoharie NY 12157 pay or let Amy know that you no longer want to be a member.
- Schoharie 5k – April 16, 2016
o Beneficiary vote tabled to next meeting– leaning toward Joshua’s Projects – further discussions will be held at next meeting with Teacher Association representative Tom Clayton
- Amy to reach out to Pat Costello to gather further info on project
- Suggestions from previous meeting – Ambulance and Palatine House will be kept on the list for future alternatives
- My School Color Run – tabled to next meeting
- Pam had boxes of Goo from Tri-a-thlon
- Hess donated 1500 cups to use for future races
- Camp Good Day’s race was changed to a Quad-a-thon
o teams of 4 people – pedal cart, kayak, paddleboard and mini golf
o Raised $2,700
- Gallupville 5k
o 25 registered runners
- Schoharie County Chamber is looking to pull together a ½ Marathon in September 2016
o Looking for a race director and guidance
o Team bounced around some ideas – suggested Blenheim Bridge to Middleburgh High School
- Fairly flat course, beautiful scenery through valley and mostly wide shoulders for running
- Only one area that road would need to be shut down to one lane – by rocks at beginning of race.
- Chamber was hoping to end race at Fairgrounds
- Further discussions needed
